  1. Hi, I am Gray & Ngaire’s daughter. I organised the first Parr Family reunion (2003). If I can be of any service please advise specific areas. I will attend the meeting this saturday with my folks and bring some presentation ideas for you. – Simple & effective is the way to go. This is going to be lots of fun. If you can get back to me before saturday and advise what you would like me to help with I would only be too happy to assist. Looking forward to meet you all. Susan (not Sue thanks)

    • Unfortunately, I havent heard of that one at all. There is a Bernard Micheal Jamieson born 1931, whom I’ve met, but I think it must be a different Jamieson family. Sorry about that.
      Sincerly

  3. Have just had a talk with Margie. Very interesting and I was able to give her some info. We are well scattered about NZ.

  4. I’m Jackie Fuller, a descendant who lives in Queensland, Australia.
I’m very interested in the reunion but doubt I could get to NZ next year….not for want of trying though. If there is any way I could get there I’ll be there.
I’m seriously addicted to tracing the family tree and anything I can contribute you are welcome to have. Just let me know.

Hi Fay Dobos, I’ve lost your email address.

  5. I found your advertisement on the notice board at the NZSG in Panmure, Auckland.

My JAMIESON family sailed to NZ on the Jane Gifford, which left Greenock on the 18 June 1842.

The farthest back we have researched is Robert JAMIESON born Abt 1752 who married Janet BOYLE. Their son Watson had a son William. William and his wife Elizabeth JAMIESON sailed to NZ.

I would be delighted to know if there is a connection.

    Good luck with your event.

    Kind regards
    Elizabeth Wade

  6. The Empire Newspaper (Sydney). Wednesday 4 October 1854. (Page 5, 1st column).
SYDNEY POLICE COURT – TUESDAY. (Before the Police Magistrate, and Meesrs. Ross, Bloxhorne, and Arkins).
DRUNK AND DISORDERLY – Barr Jamieson, Samuel Tuck, Joseph Wearing and Eliza Brown, were severely convicted of being drunk and disorderly in the public streets, and sentenced to pay a fine of 20 shillings each, or in default to be imprisoned forty-eight hours.

  7. G’Day, I’m Phil Sutherland, eldest son of Leonie Jamieson (daughter of Edward and Emily Storey Jamieson (Goodwin) and brother to Terry Sutherland. Hi Marice and Lenice! My wife and I will be attending the reunion in October, 2012. I live in Monroe (north of Seattle), Washington state, U.S.A. Look forward to seeing and meeting as many of you as possible.

  8. 02/02/2012
Yesterday, for a day out, my son and his wife decided to drive from Auckland to Mahurangi to re-visit the Mahurangi Heads East Cemetery, off Ridge Rd. This is where Govan and Mary (nee COOPER) JAMIESON are buried. They have reported back that the cemetery is very overgrown. If all that is required is a bit of gardening, I am surprised that this historic cemetery is not being cared for by the local people (many of whom have relations there) or by Historical societies. The current relevance is that there may well be people from far and wide, coming for the Reunion, who tour the country, and wish to visit some of these places. I am in touch with some of the Australian JAMIESONs who have been planning to come over. Whether they will actually visit this site remains to be seen, but since most of their relations are in the Auckland district, it seems a possibility. I would hate to send them there and have them disappointed. Perhaps some of your committee members with connections to the area can give us updated information on what is happening. (I realise that the church was removed in 1989 after Cyclone Bola weather took it off its foundations).
If someone local would obtain a quote for a careful tidy-up by a local contractor, I will make a contribution. Or perhaps the local Historical Society would like the job to gain some funds.
